The MCMVII (1907) High Relief Double Eagle

PCGS MS65

$29,500.00

What's the most beautiful coin ever made?  Whenever that question arises, one of the first and most frequent answers is sure to be the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, or $20 gold piece.  And those who know the subject well are almost sure to specify the "High Relief" design.

Delightful luster enriches this outstanding example of Saint-Gaudens' masterwork. Satiny on the relief elements and frosty in the fields, it simply overwhelms the viewer.  The quality of strike is fully equal to it's rich luster, being quite bold throughout.  Deep wire rims are evident on both sides of this lovely coin as testament to the multiple blows received from the minting press.

Free of the rim bumps and deep abrasions which mar so many examples of the "High-Relief", this wonderful specimen is a superb example of one of the most beautiful coins ever produced!
